The 2026 budget for our voivodeship can be compared to building and maintaining a solid house: the largest funds will go toward its foundations and access paths (transport), so everyone can move around freely, as well as caring for the health and safety of household members (healthcare), while the remaining funds will support the development of passions, education and the aesthetics of the surroundings.

What will the voivodeship budget money be spent on?

Infrastructure and transport (over 2.4 billion zlotys)

This is the largest item in the budget. Of these funds, PLN 1.1 billion will be allocated to roads and over PLN 453 million to railways. In addition to the extensive revitalisation of railway lines, aimed at restoring connections to smaller towns, the local government will also subsidise regional passenger transport with PLN 443 million. Road funds in our region will finance the reconstruction of voivodeship road no. 297 and modernisation works on the section between Lwówek Śląski and Pasiecznik. We will also benefit from the budget allocated to the Lower Silesian Cycling Highway.

Healthcare (almost 937 million zlotys)

This sector is the second-largest item in the budget. These funds will be used to improve the quality of hospital services, particularly in gynaecology, obstetrics and psychiatric treatment. Key investments include the construction of an oncology hospital in Wrocław (PLN 266 million) and the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Centre (PLN 19 million). Additionally, over PLN 390 million from the National Recovery Plan will support the modernisation of highly specialised and long-term care.

Agriculture and environmental protection (296 million zlotys)

These funds will be allocated, among other things, to the protection of agricultural land (PLN 66.5 million), the construction of agricultural transport roads and the rural renewal programme (PLN 8 million), aimed at strengthening the region’s food security.
Culture and cultural heritage (234 million zlotys): Most of this amount (PLN 152 million) will go toward the current operations of cultural institutions, but significant renovations have also been planned, including the modernisation of the stages at Teatr Polski (PLN 30 million) and the revitalisation of the Museum of Papermaking in Duszniki-Zdrój.

Education and science (over 231 million zlotys)

The funds will make it possible to maintain psychological and educational counselling centres, renovate educational facilities and support scholarship programmes. Particular emphasis has been placed on psychological support for young people and improving students’ skills.

It is also worth mentioning regional development (over PLN 201 million), which includes support for the labour market, the digitisation of public administration and assistance for Lower Silesian municipalities through the Development Assistance Fund. PLN 82 million has been allocated to sport, most of which will be invested in infrastructure.
