During the two-day regional “Speed” operation conducted by officers from the Bolesławiec Road Traffic Department, 64 vehicles were checked. Officers identified 21 cases of exceeding the speed limit, but these were not the only violations of the regulations.
Police officers also responded to other violations, including improper overtaking, driving without the required lights and vehicles in an improper technical condition.
During the operation, patrols also checked drivers’ sobriety. A man was detained after getting behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol. The driver lost his licence and will face the court for the offence.
Police remind us that excessive speed remains one of the main causes of the most serious road incidents. We appeal to drivers to exercise caution, adjust their speed to the applicable limits and the conditions on the road.
