Officers traveling from the opposite direction reacted immediately, blocked the driver’s path and prevented him from continuing to drive the wrong way, thereby averting a potential tragedy. Thanks to the officers’ quick and decisive response, no one was injured.

The man explained that he had “lost concentration,” but such behavior on the road poses a real danger to all road users. The driver was fined and received penalty points.

How to drive correctly on a roundabout?

  • Above all, drive in the direction indicated by the signs,
  • When entering a roundabout, yield to vehicles already on the roundabout unless the signs indicate otherwise,
  • Choose the appropriate lane before entering, usually the right lane for turning right or going straight, and the left lane for turning left or making a U-turn,
  • You may change lanes only after making sure that you will not force another road user to yield and after signaling the maneuver with your turn indicator,
  • Always use your turn indicator to signal when leaving the intersection,
  • Watch out for pedestrians and cyclists, especially at crossings and cycle crossings directly beside roundabout entrances and exits.

We appeal to drivers to remain fully focused and adjust their speed to the road conditions. A moment of inattention can result in a serious threat to life and health.
