Officers from the Bolesławiec traffic police detained a driver who entered a railway crossing on a red light just before the barriers closed. The command said: – The 61-year-old ignored the traffic signals, trying to “make it” before the crossing closed completely.

The officers, who were nearby, immediately intervened and stopped the driver for a check. For the violation, the man was fined 2,000 zlotys and received 15 penalty points.

Police remind the public that ignoring signals at railway crossings is one of the most common causes of tragic incidents involving vehicles and trains. A moment of haste can cost a life—it is worth waiting until the crossing is completely safe.
