Two exhibitions have been organized for young artists, where they present their works created in the studios of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre–International Ceramic Centre.

In the lobby of the International Ceramic Centre, visitors can see an exceptional presentation of ceramic tiles depicting abstract landscapes inspired by the twelve months. “Ceramic Calendar” is a work created by participants in winter workshops organized by BOK-MCC.

On Friday, 3 June, another opening reception will be held for the “4xP” exhibition. The exhibition will feature works created by participants in classes in ceramic and glass techniques, as well as drawing and painting. The exhibition will summarize the work to date of the Ceramic and Sculpture Studio led by Edyta Orlińska, Mateusz Grobelny’s Author’s Studio, Mateusz Grobelny, the Glass and Stained-Glass Studio led by Magdalena Olga Konieczna and the Art Studio led by Stanisława Wojda-Pytlińska. The opening reception will begin at 6:00 p.m.

The BOK-MCC studios began operating in September last year and are very popular among local residents. Children, young people and adults attended the studio classes. Whole families came to the Saturday themed workshops organized for various holidays.

The instructors leading the classes are artists—professionals who not only inspire participants’ passion for artistic creativity. They also teach discipline, patience and appropriate techniques to help participants express themselves in art as fully as possible. Each artist also presents their own work at individual exhibitions.

Works by women from Bolesławiec—Stanisława Wojda-Pytlińska, Magdalena Konieczna and Edyta Orlińska—could be seen, among other places, at the excellent “Artists of the Bolesławiec Region” exhibition organized by the Ceramic Museum in 2009.

Mateusz Grobelny, who moved to Bolesławiec recently but had visited us for years during the Ceramic Festivals, held two fashion shows featuring his own “Lace War” collection and an exhibition of sculptural works. He is known mainly as the creator of unusual, original kilns for firing clay (“Arches of Fire”, “Aquarium of Fire”).

Participation in the classes and art workshops is free of charge. BOK-MCC guarantees a high standard of the classes offered and professional staff. Enrollment for the studios will take place in the new school year, from September 2011.
