On December 4, the Legnica Regional Court delivered a judgment in the case brought by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Głogów concerning 50-year-old Robert M., who killed his 73-year-old mother in one of the apartments in Głogów. The crime was committed on January 24, 2025.
– The court found the defendant guilty of the act with which he was charged, while determining that the description should exclude the fact that he acted out of a particularly reprehensible motive, namely the desire to avoid responsibility associated with caring for his chronically ill mother – reports Liliana Łukasiewicz, press spokesperson for the Legnica Regional Prosecutor’s Office. The sentence? Twenty years in prison.
The spokesperson explains:
The prosecutor charged the above-mentioned individual with an offense under Article 148 § 2 point 3 of the Penal Code, for which the penalty was imprisonment for no less than 15 years or life imprisonment.
The court credited the defendant with the period of his actual detention from January 24, 2025, toward the imposed prison sentence, ordered him to pay court costs, and imposed a fee of PLN 1,000.
The judgment is not final. More about the entire case in the report: He killed his mother with a hammer and knife because he did not want to care for her. He faces life imprisonment. “Extreme selfishness”.
