On December 1, 2025, the sounds of a jubilee celebration rang out in the Forum BOK-MCC hall – the community of the Maria Konopnicka Municipal Public Preschool No. 2 in Bolesławiec celebrated the 70th anniversary of its institution.
“Dwójka”, located in a historic building on Mikołaja Brody Street, has for seven decades been a place where successive generations of Bolesławiec residents have grown up. For 20 years, the preschool has joyfully and fully committedly implemented the nationwide “Optimistic Preschool” programme, whose author, Mirela Nawrot, attended the jubilee ceremony.
The celebration was also an opportunity for an exceptional address by the institution’s director, Krystyny Gerwatowskiej – associated with Preschool No. 2 for 35 years. In her moving speech, she outlined the most important directions of contemporary preschool education, emphasised the role of children’s emotional and social development, and recalled the history and achievements of “Dwójka”, built over the years by dedicated teachers and staff.
One of the most important parts of the jubilee was an artistic performance by the preschool children. The young artists – with enthusiasm and natural childlike freedom – presented a rich programme showcasing the diversity of their talents, creativity and stage courage. The performances were met with tremendous enthusiasm from the audience, which included parents, former and current preschool employees, local-government officials, graduates and invited guests.
The ceremony was not only an opportunity to celebrate, but also to reminisce, take stock and reflect on the institution’s achievements. Congratulations, words of appreciation and good wishes were expressed.
