The court issued a severe sentence under expedited proceedings against a driver detained by the Bolesławiec traffic police. Command:
During a night patrol of the city centre, officers stopped a van for inspection. It was being driven by a 50-year-old resident of Osiecznica municipality.
The experienced officers immediately smelled alcohol on the man. The test confirmed their suspicions—the driver had 1.3 per mille of alcohol in his system. In addition, the police established that the man was subject to two court-ordered bans on driving motor vehicles.
The bans had been issued by courts in Żagań and Nowa Sól. Worse still, one of them is for life. Bolesławiec police: – The road offender has previously been arrested for driving while intoxicated, violating a court-ordered ban and disregarding a decision revoking his driving privileges.
There is a verdict
Under expedited proceedings, the Bolesławiec court sentenced the 50-year-old to eight months’ imprisonment without suspension and also ordered him to pay PLN 10,000 to the Fund for Assistance to Victims and Post-Penitentiary Assistance.
