Mayor Piotr Roman, presenting a report on important actions undertaken between sessions during the November meeting of the Bolesławiec City Council, mentioned that recently the Bolesławiec Municipal Police had identified as many as 127 people who were not included in waste declarations. – That is a great many – the mayor stated. – Congratulations to the commander.
He added:
In Poland – with a population of 37 million – approximately 28 million people pay for waste collection. In the case of Bolesławiec, around 15% of people do not pay for waste collection. The municipal police find these people.
He also pointed out:
I hope we catch them all. It cannot be that we all pay for those who do not feel responsible for living in the community.
How does this happen?
As the mayor explained, these are people renting properties. He added that there had been a situation in which four people were declared as living in one apartment, while in reality the premises were inhabited by... 19.
And municipal police officers have already identified 522 people who do not pay for waste collection. This is an offense punishable by a fine of up to PLN 500. – I believe it should be PLN 5,000 – P. Roman concluded.
