For several hours, very difficult road conditions have prevailed throughout Bolesławiec County. Police:
Heavy snowfall has made the roads slippery, contributing to several road incidents recorded by police officers. Fortunately, most of them ended without serious consequences; however, every such situation is a reminder of how important caution is behind the wheel.
In Kruszyn, a driver skidded and collided with another vehicle travelling in the opposite direction. A moment later, another car collided with one of the vehicles involved in the collision, as its driver had failed to adjust the speed to the prevailing conditions. At the turn-off to the A18, the driver of a passenger car lost control of the vehicle and hit a streetlight. At night, a truck driver braked sharply to avoid hitting another vehicle, causing the trailer to overturn.
Bolesławiec police officers urge drivers to exercise particular care, adjust their speed to the road conditions and to their own abilities: – Drivers should remember to increase the distance between vehicles, avoid sudden manoeuvres and set out earlier, so as not to act under time pressure.
They add: – Winter weather requires greater concentration and responsibility from all road users. Let us take care of our own safety and that of others – a moment of inattention on a slippery surface can have serious consequences.
