On Tuesday night, the duty officer at the Lubań police headquarters received a report concerning a burglary at a drugstore in Lubań. – The information received indicated that the perpetrator, unknown at that stage, drilled holes in the emergency exit door, opened it with a metal bar and then entered the premises – explains podkom. Justyna Bujakiewicz-Rodzeń, press officer of the Lubań KPP. – The perpetrator then stole items from the store shelves.
His haul consisted mainly of cosmetics. Losses: nearly PLN 5,000.
During the activities carried out at the scene, officers secured traces which, as it turned out, provided grounds for identifying the perpetrator.

Thanks to the effective operational work of officers from the Criminal Division, the suspect was arrested at his place of residence just a few hours after the incident.
She adds:
While searching the premises, officers found a bag containing a brown substance, which was tested with a drug tester. The result indicated that nearly 10 portions of marijuana had been seized. The drugs secured will undergo further testing at the police laboratory. Meanwhile, the 39-year-old was arrested by police officers.
The evidence collected made it possible to bring appropriate charges against him.
That was not the end of the matter. Officers established that the same man had committed a burglary and theft at the same store several days earlier. At that time, the perpetrator mainly stole razors, perfumes and toothbrushes worth nearly PLN 3,000.
Police recovered several items originating from the crime, which, as it turned out, the 39-year-old had sold at a pawnshop.
The court will decide the man's future. Burglary carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
