Older residents of Bolesławiec certainly remember the peculiar “legends” about the area around Gdańska Street in Bolesławiec. This district of the city of ceramics had a bad reputation. It was supposedly dangerous there, especially after dark.

According to information circulating among people, assaults, robberies and thefts were supposedly more common there than in other areas of Bolesławiec.

Someone once even ventured to say that the Gdańska–Warszawska–Mazowiecka area, several decades ago, was a kind of “Bermuda Triangle” in Bolesławiec.

Who remembers those old days? Was the area around Gdańska really that dangerous several decades ago? Or are these merely legends?
