On Friday, November 14, a few minutes after 3:00 p.m., the ceremonial Gala marking the 60th anniversary of MKS Bolesłavia began at the Old Theatre in Bolesławiec. The guests gathered in the auditorium were welcomed by MKS Bolesłavia President – Krzysztof Ramza.
After the welcome, a documentary film about the club was shown. This was followed by words of thanks, awards and artistic performances by children from the Youth Cultural Centre.
It was a special moment in the club’s history, during which former and current athletes, coaches and people involved in the development of sport in Bolesławiec were honoured. At the club, we are like a family, like friends – these words were spoken by MKS Bolesłavia coaches and athletes. The media, including the istotne.pl website, were also thanked for reporting on the club’s achievements.
The invited guests included Mayor Piotr Roman and County Head Tomasz Gabrysiak, Member of Parliament Szymon Pogoda, representatives of DZLA, sponsors, heads of municipal companies and schools that support the club, as well as athletics clubs from Lower Silesia with which it is friendly.
The club received letters of congratulations from the mayor and the county head. The officials spared no compliments for Bolesłavia. Mayor Roman said that it was the best-managed sports club in Bolesławiec. County Head Gabrysiak added that it was also the most recognisable.
It is also worth mentioning the special gift from the friendly OSA Zgorzelec club. From its friends near the German border, Bolesłavia received a tree sapling together with a commemorative plaque. You can see a photo of the moment in the gallery below:
