Criminal investigators from Bolesławiec detained two residents of Zgorzelec County suspected of a series of break-ins at truck trailers. Police headquarters:

The men operated at night, choosing locations where truck drivers stopped for longer rest periods. They stole various goods worth a total of nearly 40,000 złoty.

The crimes occurred in September, October and November of this year in the Nowogrodziec municipality. The perpetrators did not know what goods they would find in the trailers—they were interested in anything of any value. The stolen items included, among other things, croissants, cat food and toothpaste.

The first to be detained was a 32-year-old man, well known to officers from his previous criminal activity. He acted as a repeat offender. Several days later, criminal investigators detained his accomplice—a 27-year-old, also a resident of Zgorzelec County.

The younger detainee was charged with an additional offense because, investigators determined, he was also responsible for breaking into and stealing from a shop in Bolesławiec County.

The evidence gathered by officers from the police station in Nowogrodziec made it possible to charge both men. Their further fate will now be decided by the court.

Police: – The 27-year-old faces up to 10 years in prison for the offenses committed, while the 32-year-old, as a repeat offender, faces an increased sentence of up to 15 years in prison.
