As reported by the Bolesławiec municipal office:

Today is a special day for our community – Mrs. Regina Mucha, a resident of Bolesławiec, is celebrating her 100th birthday.

Mrs. Regina Mucha (née Majewska) was born on 6 November 1925 in the village of Wilkowice, in Sandomierz County. From an early age, she was connected with her family’s land and farm work, which taught her perseverance, humility and respect for nature and people.

Life did not spare her difficult moments – during World War II, at just 17 years old, she experienced the drama of a street roundup, from which her father miraculously rescued her. After the war, in 1946, she married Jan Mucha. Two years later, the young couple came to western Poland and settled in Bolesławiec, which became their new home.

Mrs. Regina ran the household, devotedly raising three daughters and taking care of the warmth of the family home. She also worked at the Vials and Ampoules Factory in Bolesławiec, where she became known as a conscientious, responsible and kind person.
