Works by Katarzyna Hałas made of glass and ceramics have won numerous awards in specialist industrial design competitions, including Dobry Wzór and Forma, as well as a gold medal at the 1997 Poznań International Fair.
The artist works in interior architecture, as well as in functional and unique ceramics. The “CUDinNOŚCI” exhibition will feature unique sculptures, glass vessels, mirrors, everyday objects made using the fusing technique (the latest trend in the world of glass, involving the joining of different types of glass at high temperatures), as well as paintings and drawings providing an integral backdrop to the exhibition.
Between 1986 and 1991, Katarzyna Hałas studied at the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. She obtained her ceramics diploma in the studio of Professor Irena Lipska-Zworska. She has presented her work at approximately 50 art exhibitions, both group and solo, in cities including Gdańsk, Kraków, Poznań, Warsaw, Wrocław, Antwerp, Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Copenhagen, Luxembourg, Madrid, Mexico City, Verona and Arizona, USA.
Her design work has been published in Dom i Wnętrze, Cztery Kąty, Inwestor & Dekorator, Architektura & Business, Art. Business, Szkło i Ceramika, Kuchnia, Domus, Łazienka, Meble Plus, Warsaw Business Journal and The Warsaw Voice.
The exhibition opening will take place next Friday, 20 May, at 6:00 p.m. at the BOK-MCC Gallery. The exhibition will be open until 16 June 2011.
