Officers from the Bolesławiec Police Traffic Division detained an intoxicated foreign national whose car keys had been taken by another road user after he witnessed the 48-year-old’s dangerous driving. A resident of Lubin prevented the drunk driver from continuing his journey and notified the Police.

A sobriety test showed that the 48-year-old was driving with 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his system. After sobering up, the Ukrainian citizen was brought before the court, where he was sentenced in an expedited procedure. The sentence included, among other things, a three-year driving ban and an obligation to make a monetary payment to the Fund for Assistance to Victims and Post-Penitentiary Assistance.

In addition, the convicted man was handed over to Border Guard officers in connection with the commencement of proceedings aimed at deporting him from Poland.
