In Bolesławiec, work is underway on national road 94, where two new bridges over the Bóbr will be built. One of them is being constructed next to the existing bridge (the “northern” one), while the other will be built where the old bridge stands, which will be dismantled.

What has already been done, and what work is underway?

The construction crew is preparing the structure of the new bridge:

  • it is putting up wooden forms that will be used for pouring concrete,
  • laying the steel reinforcement,
  • and preparing part of the road leading across the bridge.

The dismantling of the old bridge will begin in the future. It is to be carried out in stages so that drivers experience as little disruption as possible.

Why is this project important?

The new bridges are intended to:

  • improve safety,
  • make it easier to travel through the city,
  • reduce traffic jams,
  • and provide more convenient conditions for pedestrians and cyclists as well.

What happens next?

First, the northern bridge is to be completed and opened. Only then will the old bridge be fully dismantled and construction of a new one begin in its place. The work will continue for some time, but its outcome is expected to improve everyday traffic in this part of Bolesławiec.
