The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 17, in the rural municipality of Bolesławiec. In the evening, the police duty officer received a report about a cat being killed. The animal’s owner notified the officers. According to the man, the perpetrator was his 65-year-old neighbor. Officers determined that the animal had entered the neighbor’s property, where he set dogs on it. The cat escaped up a tree. The older man knocked it down from there, probably using a wooden club, and killed it.
The 65-year-old was drunk when he was arrested. He had more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his system. He now faces up to two years in prison.
