When he was commander, Emil Zając could instantly catch the restaurant owner's dog from Piwnica Paryska when the ownerless, muzzled dog was frightening people in the town. Paco had barely stepped outside the restaurant before a fine had already been issued and the dog was returned to its owner. Those days are over.
The Municipal Police commander, dragging her feet, informs us several days late that she has been unable to catch the dog that bit several other dogs.
On October 17, we received another report of the Municipal Police's failure in this matter:
In response to the message dated October 3, 2025, the Municipal Police in Bolesławiec informs us that the dog's owner has not been identified. At the same time, we inform you that only one report of a dog being bitten was submitted to our unit, as a result of which explanatory proceedings were initiated and are currently ongoing. However, we note that the reporting party does not confirm whether the incident in question involved the dog mentioned in your article.
Let us recall that, under the command of Chalewicz-Pudłowska, the Municipal Police also had some successes. In 2019, they managed to catch a raccoon dog. The animal was dehydrated and weak. In 2021, they caught a pug that its owner had been looking for. The owner was fined at the time, had to collect the pet from the shelter, and pay PLN 70 for the dog's stay at the facility.
Given our experience that the commander usually replies after several days, we asked her today, October 17, what progress she would make in catching the aggressive dog by October 30. The reply will probably arrive on October 31, so it will be reasonably up to date.
