On 17 October 2025, Bolesławiec City Hall announced a tender for the construction of the abutments for a DMS-65-type road bridge and the access paths to the structure. Funding for this project has been secured in the city budget.
City Hall: – The new structure will be a typical DMS-65 folding road bridge – a proven solution widely used for the rapid reconstruction or creation of temporary crossings. Bridges of this type are used, among other things, during the modernization of permanent engineering structures, and their installation makes it possible to restore transport links.
The 46-metre-long and 6.08-metre-wide bridge will have safe steel railings and access paths surfaced with concrete paving blocks. The crossing will be built below the so-called weir on the Bóbr River, and once the abutments have been constructed, it will be assembled by soldiers from the Technical Troops.
Why will this structure be built?
The temporary pedestrian and bicycle bridge is intended to relieve traffic on Spacerowa Street, especially during the summer, when many residents and tourists use the recreational infrastructure along the Bóbr. Additional parking spaces are also planned in the area of Gdańska Street, which will improve the convenience and transport accessibility for users of the recreational infrastructure.
