Grażyna Hanaf and Krzysztof Gwizdała talk with Artur Nowak about why their film about a priest’s acquaintance became the beginning of a court battle.

This is another interview by the journalists from Bolesławiec at the Sekielski Brothers studio and a valuable collaboration with Artur Nowak, the author of a series of books exposing the double standards of Catholic clergy. In one of his publications, “Plebania,” Artur Nowak also describes the story of the parish priest from Bolesławiec and his friend.

The columnist invited the journalists to share information about their court battle with a priest who used the courts to silence the press.

The priest and his friend, who is 30 years younger, accused the journalists of defamation, and criminal proceedings against the istotne.pl editorial team took place in Bolesławiec. The journalists were acquitted, but the priest and the celebrity appealed the verdict.

In October 2025, another case began, this time a civil action for infringement of personal rights before the court in Jelenia Góra. The priest sued only Krzysztof Gwizdała. In January 2026, the priest’s friend will go to court against Gwizdała. He is bringing the same accusations against the istotne.pl editor as the priest.

In the case before the court in Jelenia Góra, Bishop of Legnica Andrzej Siemieniewski and the vicars who served in the basilica in Bolesławiec have already testified. The outcome of the appeal and both cases will probably come in 2026.
