Windows 10 users in Europe, including Poland, can breathe a sigh of relief. Microsoft will provide free technical support and updates for this popular operating system for another year, until 13 October 2026. Free support was originally scheduled to end on 14 October 2025, but following pressure from consumer organisations in Europe, Microsoft extended this period.

This means that millions of computers running Windows 10 in European Economic Area (EEA) countries will continue to receive essential security patches and feature updates at no additional cost. This is good news in the context of growing cyber threats and the need to keep software constantly updated.

This is particularly important for individuals and companies that, for various reasons, have not yet decided to migrate to Windows 11 or cannot do so because of hardware requirements.

The extension gives users additional time to prepare for a future operating system change, while ensuring the security and stability of their devices over the coming year.
