Today, the song “Szczęście” by Plug’n’Blues is being released to radio stations. It is the fifth single promoting the band’s debut album “Taki los”, which was released in September 2023. The album “Taki los” remained on the Radio Poznań Blues Album Chart for seven months. Since May 2024, it has also been available on streaming platforms.

Plug’n’Blues was formed in 2018 in Chojnów, Lower Silesia. The band performs music deeply rooted in blues and rock. Its musical inspirations include Polish legends such as Breakout and Dżem. The author of the lyrics, filled with personal experiences, is the band’s vocalist and guitarist, Tomasz Łabowicz. He is also responsible for most of the compositions on the debut album “Taki los”.

The band has already played dozens of concerts, both in clubs and on outdoor stages. In 2022, it took first place in the Amateur Blues Bands Competition at the Ścinawski Blues nad Odrą festival. In 2023, the band took part in the competition at the Las, Woda & Blues festival in Radzyń. In March 2024, it was the headline act at Legnica Blues Day. This year, it performed, among other events, at Węgliniecka Noc Bluesowa and Legnicka Majówka.

The recordings for the album “Taki los” were completed over the course of several days. One afternoon, we recorded 11 songs on the stage of the Legnickie Centrum Kultury (most of them were recorded only once). We played simultaneously, as at a concert, and the emotions while playing were similar, despite monitoring only through headphones. Then, over two afternoons, I recorded the vocal parts at Studio Megawatt in Legnica. Finally, back at the Legnickie Centrum Kultury, trumpeter Patrycjusz Gruszecki recorded his parts. Dariusz Witkowski handled the mixing and mastering at Studio Megawatt.

Thanks to the support of the Chojnów Municipal Office, the end result is our debut album “Taki los”, of which we are very proud.

T. Łabowicz on the new single:

The song “Szczęście” was written in 2019, on an ordinary summer afternoon. Sitting at my desk, I put the song’s lyrics down on paper. Paradoxically, the lyrics tell of a desire to experience happiness that is very close, within arm’s reach. Unfortunately, it remains only a desire. In the song, happiness takes the form of a woman. In its first version, the song featured a solo by our keyboardist, Kuba Matys—it was the sound of a synthetically generated trumpet. As it happened, trumpeter Patrycjusz Gruszecki played this part instead, at the suggestion of our sound engineer, Darek Witkowski. Patrycjusz was inspired by our music and added trumpet to six more songs. I also encourage you to listen to the other compositions from our album “Taki los”.
