Last Friday, September 19, 2025, the first social gathering was held in Gościszów, in the grounds of the Manor Park, for seniors from the Day Care Home operating at the Municipal and Communal Social Welfare Centre in Nowogrodziec and from the Senior Citizens’ Club in Gościszów.
The gathering was attended by the mayor of Nowogrodziec Joanna Świder, head of the Municipal and Communal Social Welfare Centre Alicja Smolińska, head of the Day Care Home Anna Lityńska, and occupational therapy instructor Krzysztof Kawałko.

We were accompanied by the folk ensemble “Gościszowianki”, while Mr Edward Gorczyca played the accordion.
We sang songs together and took part in dexterity competitions. The alcohol impairment goggles made the world appear different, and simple tasks became very difficult. Distorted vision, problems with motor coordination, and incorrect assessments of distance and direction caused participants to misjudge distances when throwing. This allowed them to see in practice how limiting the effects of alcohol can be, and in safe conditions.
They also sum up: – The winning team received the main prize: a “robot vacuum cleaner”, while the defeated team received a consolation prize. The joy, laughter, grilled sausages, cakes and bread with lard tasted delicious.
They add: – Further joint events have been planned through the end of the year. We hope to develop friendships and cooperation.
