Film actresses captured by the lenses of the most distinguished photographers have found their way into an album and a specially prepared exhibition. It presents the biographies and artistic achievements of 55 female film stars from many generations—from the pre-war era up to recent years. The exhibition was created on the initiative and with the funding of Polish Film Institute and Rosner publishing house, in cooperation with the National Film Archive and Museum of Cinematography in Łódź.
The actresses were selected by an all-male jury composed of actors, directors, cinematographers, producers and screenwriters: Bogusław Linda, Borys Lankosz, Sławomir Idziak, Michał Kwieciński and Janusz Głowacki. The men consulted with film scholar Dr. Rafał Marszałek. Fans also voted for the most popular actresses. The most votes went to Krystyna Janda, in the following order: Danuta Stenka, Magdalena Cielecka, Katarzyna Figura and Beata Tyszkiewicz.
Photographic portraits of actresses were created by the masters who had been associated with film for years: Piotr Bujnowicz, Edward Hartwig, Krzysztof Gierałtowski, Zofia Nasierowska, Renata Pajchel, Wojciech Plewiński and Tadeusz Rolke.

The organizers invite you to the exhibition opening at Monday, May 9, at around 8:45 p.m., immediately after the screening of the film “Joanna” (shown at the Film Discussion Club). The exhibition will be set up in front of the Forum cinema. The exhibition will be open to visitors until the end of May.
