On Tuesday afternoon, 9 September, at around 4 p.m., an incident involving a passenger car and a police car occurred on Gryfowska Street in Lwówek Śląski, at the exit from the town towards Gryfów Śląski – reports lwowecki.info. Firefighters and police officers from Lwówek are at the scene. The latter are determining the circumstances of the incident.
Initial findings indicate that a 52-year-old man from Lwówek County, driving a Ford Mondeo from the direction of Płuczki Dolne, left the road and hit a police van. The collision occurred on a bend in the road. The female police officer behind the wheel of the police car tried to avoid the collision by steering right, but it was already too late.
The officer was taken to hospital for examinations. Junior Aspirant Olga Łukaszewicz of the County Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski confirmed that both drivers were sober.
