At the railway station in Bolesławiec, there is a clock that measures time faster than any other clock in the world.
A reader wrote to our editorial office and sent a video of the clock:
Do you also get the impression that time flies? It wasn’t long ago that it was the summer holidays, and now a whole week of school has already passed 😂
Unfortunately, the world’s fastest clock is not a reason to be proud. Both the clock and the non-functioning information boards on the platforms represent a significant shortcoming on the part of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe (PKP PLK). Despite their physical presence for more than two years, the failure to launch these devices makes it harder for passengers to access up-to-date information about train traffic.
– Work related to launching the CSDIP dynamic passenger information system is being carried out at stations and stops along the Wrocław–Zgorzelec railway line. Under the current schedule, testing is planned to begin in July 2025, with final acceptance in September 2025 – informed us in April 2025 Marta Pabiańska from the Press Team of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A.
For a long time, passengers using stations and stops along the Wrocław–Zgorzelec railway route had been reporting problems with the electronic information boards.
Although these devices were installed around three years ago, they still do not serve their purpose. Instead of current information about train arrivals and departures, the screens have displayed nothing but a blue background for months, and on top of that, passengers received one hell of a clock.
The boards were supposed to help travelers navigate the timetable, but by conveying no messages, they are merely a useless piece of infrastructure.
