“If we happen to notice a potential suicide attempt, the first thing to do is call the police and ambulance service. Not everyone knows how to respond properly, so for the sake of such a person, it is better not to attempt a rescue yourself. Staring and shouting ‘don’t do it’ may have the opposite effect,” says Teresa Rudzińska, head of the Psychological and Educational Counseling Center in Bolesławiec.
