An employee of Biedronka was hired by Jeronimo Martins in 2023. By mid-2025, she had been transferred three times to different stores in Bolesławiec. Despite her commitment to the company and exemplary work at the last store, they wanted to demote her. The employee sent a complaint to Jeronimo Martins asking for the matter to be clarified.

The Corporate Communications Manager at the Biedronka chain confirmed that the company was aware of the matter.

We confirm that, in connection with the report submitted to the Employee Service Office concerning the store in Bolesławiec, proceedings will be initiated to verify the validity of the report in accordance with the procedures adopted by the company – she adds.

The employee from Bolesławiec was deeply affected by what happened to her at the company. She also feels great disappointment that her efforts, hard work and exemplary performance were not appreciated.

– I lost my job and, in fact, I do not know the reasons why I was treated this way – an employee of Biedronka who wishes to remain anonymous tells us. – The manager I worked with for eight months drank coffee with me, joked around, and gave no indication that I bothered her, while behind my back, for a month and a half, she was scheming with the regional manager about how to get rid of me from the store together. She gave me an evaluation saying that I was difficult to work with and that she could not get along with me. That was not true. Then she sent me to another store to a friend of hers who was the manager there. And her friend wanted to demote me before signing the contract and after a month of work. In short, neither the manager nor any other responsible person spoke to me. Everything happened behind my back. Previously, I had worked with two managers who had nothing bad to say about me. Did the manager feel threatened by me, thinking I might take her place? Did she dislike the fact that I got along so well with the employees? I do not know what motivated her. I did not take sick leave, I was not late, I did not complain about the schedules, and in the office I did what was required of me. Whatever the manager wanted, I got done. In the store, together with the employees, we sometimes worked on stocking goods until we were exhausted so that the manager would be satisfied – says the Biedronka employee in Bolesławiec.

According to information that we have been unable to confirm, the manager was demoted and transferred to another store.
