A ceramic kiln is a symbol of the Ceramic Festival. It is truly an amazing tool that makes it possible to transform delicate, soft forms made of clay into durable works of art or functional vessels. Every ceramic artist knows that without the firing process, ceramics would not exist. The kiln is the very heart of Bolesławiec’s great potters’ festival.

Looking at Lady Blue ceramics freshly taken out of the kiln to decorate the exhibition "New Design in Bolesławiec Ceramics", we begin to take part in a story that was shaped, fired and glazed especially for the Ceramic Festival. We are viewing objects born of passion and artistic sensitivity. Each plate, cup or bowl tells its own story—about the emotions, inspirations and colors of everyday life.

Opening the Lady Blue ceramic kiln

Once the clay pieces have been thoroughly dried and covered with glaze, they are moved to the kiln. They are placed inside with the utmost care, arranged on special shelves or supports. Each piece must have its own place, because at this stage it is easy to cause accidental damage.

The high temperature causes the glaze to fuse with the ceramics, giving it an incredible shine and intense colors. Every kiln opening is like unwrapping a gift.

Original designs inspired by the Bolesławiec tradition

What distinguishes Lady Blue is its distinctive, one-of-a-kind designs. Paulina Stefańczyk draws on Bolesławiec’s heritage, while bringing freshness, imagination and an individual flair to it. No two pieces are identical—the collection is a riot of colors, motifs and forms that can enchant at first sight. And although the designs are inspired by tradition, they boldly go beyond the boundaries of established patterns.

An artist with a mission and imagination

Behind every piece of Lady Blue ceramics is Paulina Stefańczyk—an artist for whom handicraft is not a job, but a form of storytelling and sharing a little of her sensitivity with others. For her, ceramics are a way of conveying emotion and beauty to everyday rituals. Every design passes through her imagination and hands, so when you choose Lady Blue products, you are really bringing a part of her story into your home.

The artist’s works can be admired at the exhibition "New Design in Bolesławiec Ceramics" at the Forum cinema gallery. The opening is on Thursday, 14 August.
