Preliminary police findings indicate that an argument broke out among the men who were drinking together, escalating into a brawl that ended in a physical confrontation. During the heated exchange, one of the men grabbed a knife and stabbed two of his companions.
One of the partygoers was stabbed in the abdomen and leg, while the other was stabbed in the leg. Both injured men, aged 30, were taken to hospital in Legnica. Their lives are not in danger.
The 46-year-old attacker was detained. All three men were drunk: the suspect had a blood alcohol level of 1.5 per mille, while the injured men each had 1.3.
The detainee was charged with two offenses. He faces up to 20 years in prison. At the prosecutor's request, the man was placed in temporary custody for three months. The Lwówek-based outlet: – As the press spokesperson for the District Prosecutor's Office in Legnica explains, the measure was taken due to concerns about interference with the proceedings, as investigators are still questioning witnesses and feared that the suspect might influence their testimony. Prosecutors also feared that the 46-year-old might flee.
