The District Prosecutor’s Office in Lwówek Śląski filed an indictment with the local District Court against a 30-year-old resident of Lwówek county. He is accused of persistently stalking his former partner, as well as threatening her and those closest to her with death.

– The proceedings established that the victim ended her relationship with the accused, which had lasted less than two months. She blocked all forms of contact with him. The perpetrator did not want to accept this – explains Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, press spokesperson for the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra. – Therefore, from May 2025, he persistently stalked the woman.

He repeatedly sent text messages to the victim and those closest to her, made telephone calls from various numbers, drove his car around the area of her home, threatened the victim and those closest to her with death, and sprayed pepper gas under the entrance door to her apartment. Prosecutor: – The accused’s behavior made the victim feel tormented and threatened and significantly violated her privacy.

The perpetrator was charged with an offense carrying a sentence of up to eight years in prison. The accused partially admitted to committing the crime of which he was charged. He gave an explanation.

The prosecutor then imposed non-custodial preventive measures on him: police supervision, a ban on approaching the victim within 100 meters, and a ban on contacting her in any way.

Unfortunately, the accused did not stop his actions. Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska:

He continued to make attempts to contact her in a persistent and burdensome manner. In addition, he created fake e-mail accounts on various websites using her personal details and used them to send bystanders defamatory messages damaging her good name, as well as altered photos of the victim and her children. He threatened to kill her and the children and to cause them bodily harm.

What is more, during the proceedings it also emerged that the victim was not this perpetrator’s only victim, as he had engaged in similar behavior toward another former partner.

The perpetrator was detained and brought to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lwówek Śląski, where he was once again charged with persistent stalking, this time two victims. The suspect partially admitted to committing these offenses.

The court remanded the man in temporary custody for three months. The man had previously been convicted.
