Crime investigators, together with officers from the Investigative Division of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra, gathered evidence that made it possible to charge a 44-year-old man from Jelenia Góra with attempted murder, committed under so-called recidivism.
Police: – On 20 July this year, the man was brought by officers to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra for procedural activities to be carried out with him.
Officers established that on 6 July 2025, at around 4:00 a.m., the detainee and his acquaintance were spending time at one of the venues in Jelenia Góra. At one point, an argument broke out between them, as a result of which the detainee stabbed the other man several times with a knife and then fled.
The injured man, suffering life-threatening injuries, was taken to hospital.
Police were notified of the incident and began searching for the attacker while also collecting evidence in the case. On 20 July this year, the man was arrested at a hotel in one of the towns in Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
The man from Jelenia Góra will now face court for the offence, for which he could even be sentenced to life imprisonment. At the prosecutor’s request, the District Court ordered three months of pre-trial detention.
