On Friday, April 8, the regional qualifiers of the 56th Lower Silesian Recitation Competition, addressed to junior high school students, were held at the Gallery of Talented Young People of the Stanisław Wyspiański Youth Cultural Centre in Bolesławiec. Sixteen reciters and 10 performers of sung poetry took part in the qualifiers.
The competition committee (comprising: Urszula Frąszczak-Matyjewicz, Katarzyna Nowak, Dorota Straburzyńska, Barbara Prabucka and Marek Łętowski) decided to award eight main prizes in the recitation category. They went to: Monika Myjak from Junior High School No. 1 in Kamienna Góra, Dorota Jadeszko from the Junior High School in Lubawka, Gabriela Klimczak from the School Complex in Krzeszów, Aleksandra Wiza from Junior High School No. 3 in Lubań, Anastazja Łozowska from Junior High School No. 1 in Jelenia Góra, Michał Krawczewski from Municipal School Complex No. 1 in Bolesławiec, and Karolina Szachniewicz and Michalina Kimera (both from Junior High School No. 1 in Zgorzelec).
The best performers in the sung poetry category were: Magdalena Kołodziejczak from Junior High School No. 1 in Lubań, Dominika Kuręda from the Junior High School in Leśna, Natalia Droń from the Youth Cultural Centre in Jelenia Góra, Maria Ilczyna from Junior High School No. 3 in Zgorzelec and Marta Werens from Junior High School No. 3 in Bolesławiec.
The competition’s winners qualified for the provincial qualifiers, which will be held in May in Oława.
