In our view, the organizers prepared the gathering to secure access to state positions and money for their associates. It is possible that some of them deeply believe what they are saying, which is why the manipulation is so dangerous.

Scaring people with immigrants would seem to be the last foolish thing to do in a country whose citizens themselves emigrate to various countries to earn money, and where the work of people arriving from abroad is essential to the proper functioning of the economy. However, when someone tells lies with conviction and fights stubbornly for that falsehood with a zeal worthy of a better cause, people can be misled.

When we prevented hate speech from appearing in the comments, which had flooded in like a swift-moving sewer after the article Aggressors in the market square this Saturday. They will scare people with migrants, we received many words of appreciation and encouragement not to allow false information about migrants to enter the public sphere again. We thank all the citizens and patriots who wrote to us for their words of support.

Facts about migration and the situation at the border

According to data from the Police Headquarters, Statistics Poland and Eurostat, crime is declining in Poland. At the same time, in recent years Poland has recorded a significant increase in the number of migrants, particularly from Ukraine and Belarus. The fact that crime is declining despite the increased presence of foreigners indicates that migration has no negative impact on public safety.

Migrants, like every other social group, represent diverse histories and experiences. A significant proportion of them migrate for humanitarian reasons, such as armed conflicts or persecution, seeking shelter and improved living conditions. The claim that migrants are exclusively perpetrators of crimes is an oversimplification inconsistent with reality, leading to the spread of hatred and prejudice.

Sexual crime is a global problem affecting different social groups and is not limited solely to migrants. To counter false claims about the connection between migration and crime, it is worth consulting research conducted by European institutions and fact-checking organizations, which debunk such claims. A reliable analysis of data and facts is essential for shaping an objective picture of migration’s impact on society.

The Groundlessness of the Claim That Germany Is “Dumping” Migrants in Poland

The claim that Germany is supposedly “dumping” thousands of illegal migrants in Poland is completely unfounded and is not supported by any reliable sources. Every country, including both Germany and Poland, has clearly defined, legally compliant regulations concerning the reception of migrants and the processing of migration-related cases.

Individual incidents occurring on the Polish-German border cannot be interpreted as reflecting Germany’s official migration policy. The numbers of migrants cited by people spreading disinformation have no basis whatsoever in fact.

It is also worth noting the Dublin III Regulation (No. 604/2013), which precisely defines the criteria for determining the European Union Member State responsible for examining an application for international protection.

Under this regulation, this is usually the first Member State whose border was crossed by the foreign national seeking protection. On this basis, foreign nationals may legally be returned to the countries responsible for examining their asylum applications. Thus, transfers of migrants that may take place occur under applicable EU law, rather than as a result of illegal actions.
