Joanna Kołaczkowska visited Bolesławiec many times. She most often came with the Hrabi cabaret, but she also visited us in connection with the cultural project "Comedy Without Borders", which in 2018 was still run at BIK-MCC by Dariusz Uściński. During the meeting, the artist spoke about her life, passions and projects.

Her friends wrote on the Hrabi cabaret’s Facebook profile.

It is with tremendous pain and sadness that we announce that Joanna Kołaczkowska has passed away... Our Asia.

She had to face the worst and most aggressive opponent. She fought bravely, with dignity and hope. We fought alongside her. Unfortunately, we exhausted all available forms of treatment. We believed in a miracle. The miracle did not happen.

Asia passed away peacefully, without pain. Surrounded by her loved ones and friends—those whom she loved and who loved her unconditionally.

She left behind an enormous void that cannot be filled. In us—the people who were close to her, who shared the stage and life with her. And in the world of art, which was her space, her home, her breath, and of which she was the most beautiful embodiment.

Her talent cannot be compared—it was a phenomenon. Her presence—a gift. Her passing—a loss beyond comprehension.

Thank you, Asia.
For the laughter, the emotion, the beauty and goodness that you carried within you and gave to the world. For the goodness.
You remain with us—in every memory, every verse, every silence that hurts more today than ever before.

We believe that wherever you are now—laughing, radiant, free—you are bringing your laughter to others, just as you brought us hope and joy, even on the darkest days.
