Roads maintained by the county are neglected. Near the Fire Station, on Wesoła Street, there is so much sand that when the wind blows, pedestrians have to cover their eyes and mouths. At the intersection of Tamka and Kościuszki Streets, a manhole collapsed several months ago. Plastic bollards are still standing there, and drivers have to go around them. Admittedly, the road does not belong to the county, but the county maintains it, so—in our opinion—it should make sure that the manhole is repaired.
There is total chaos in the road markings at the intersection of Chrobrego and Żwirki i Wigury Streets. Although the weather has been good for several weeks, the correct lines have still not been painted there. They kept promising and promising, but nothing was done. There is no point even mentioning the neglected Gdańska, Mickiewicza, Mostowa, Staroszkolna and Dolne Młyny Streets.
Repeatedly, following reports from our readers, we reported these problems directly to some members of the County Board. What has been the result? If we look at the roads, none.
After reading the news on the county’s website, we conclude that the starosta Cezary Przybylski and board member Dariusz Kwaśniewski have recently been busy achieving successes. They also took part in many events, such as a hairdressing competition co-organized by the county office. The Board members therefore have time both for the hairdresser and for boasting about their successes at a session, and even for setting up a Facebook account. We can therefore only conclude that they have run out of time to keep the roads tidy.
