The incident occurred at night on Wańkowicza Street in Bolesławiec. The man hid among the cars, then approached a van parked by the building and threw a piece of concrete at it with all his strength. The rubble damaged the door frame and shattered the window. After the incident, the man walked away as if nothing had happened.

The residents’ association on Wańkowicza Street has a surveillance system. When one of the residents heard the bang, he immediately looked at the camera feed and noticed three men taking pictures. This seemed strange, so he rewound the recording to see what had happened. He then saw the entire incident: the man approached the van and threw a stone at it, then walked away, and shortly afterward three people appeared, having heard the bang, and took pictures.

The resident immediately called 112 and, during the conversation, saw on the camera feed that the perpetrator was still hanging around the building. The police arrived after a few minutes. The perpetrator was detained. He could not explain to the officers why he had thrown the piece of concrete. The man appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

The car’s owner also arrived at the scene and had to assess the damage, because the classification of the act—whether it would be an offense or a crime—would depend on its value.

The perpetrator was taken away by the police.
