On Friday, 1 April, the First Bench Press Competition was held at the TKKF Bolesławianka gym. Twenty-three strongmen took part in the tournament, including representatives of sports clubs and unaffiliated strength athletes. The competitors competed in four age categories.
In the junior category, Daniel Zawadzki of Activ was the best, pressing 110 kg. Sebastian Członka of TKKF Bolesławianka came second, while Artur Gwóźdź of Złotoryja came third.
In the senior category, Andrzej Kocyła of Złotoryja won. The strength athlete pressed 210 kg. Bartłomiej Cierlik of Activ took second place, and Dominik Flinik (23rd Air Assault Brigade) took third.
In the older seniors category, Jerzy Lewandowski won, pressing 205 kg. Sławomir Purta came second; both represented TKKF Bolesławianka.
Among the masters, Marek Drozdek was the best with 132.5 kg. Zbigniew Szymański came second, and Andrzej Lisowski third; all represented TKKF Bolesławianka. The competition was held as part of the 2011 Open Bolesławiec Championships.
