Tauron Dystrybucja has opened another investment: the 13-kilometre Krzywa-Bolesławiec high-voltage cable line (110 kV). It is the longest high-voltage cable line in TAURON Dystrybucja. The line is already energized, connecting the power grids in two company branches: Jelenia Góra and Legnica. The project is worth more than PLN 42 million.

– This is a long-awaited investment that will enable us to supply more energy to our customers, bringing long-term benefits both to residents and to the local economy – says Jerzy Rzemyszkiewicz, Vice-President of TAURON Dystrybucja for network maintenance. – The two-sided supply of our substations will also increase the security of electricity deliveries.

As the company emphasizes:

The line is an important element connecting TAURON Dystrybucja’s grids in two branches. It will increase the reliability and security of the power supply and enable new customers to be connected.

The investment will also benefit the economic zones developing in the region by ensuring stable energy supplies.

The cable line contains an embedded optical fibre for temperature measurement, enabling better monitoring and faster responses to potential failures.

The Krzywa-Bolesławiec line runs through approximately 90 different properties and an important transport hub, crossing the A4 motorway and the main railway line between Wrocław and Dresden. The investment will supply hundreds of business customers and thousands of households. Thanks to it, our 110/20 kV substations in Chocianów, Gromadka and Krzywa have gained the possibility of two-sided power supply, significantly strengthening the energy security of this region.

The need to build a high-voltage line connecting the Krzywa substation in the Legnica branch with the Bolesławiec-Tysiąclecia substation in the Jelenia Góra branch had existed for many years. Due to the costs and the difficulty of obtaining consent from the owners of the land through which the overhead line was to run, we decided to implement… a cable investment. It was carried out by TRACK Tec Construction Sp. z o.o.

– The reliability and security of supply for currently connected consumers will improve, as will the possibility of connecting new customers to the TAURON Dystrybucja power grid – notes Piotr Jadłosz, director of the Jelenia Góra and Legnica branches of TAURON Dystrybucja. – Our readiness to connect both individual customers and large businesses in the nearby economic zones also represents our commitment to the region’s and local government’s economic development plan.

Tauron announces:

The Krzywa-Bolesławiec cable line is one of the projects developing the energy sector in this region. In the coming years, we will modernize several dozen kilometres of other lines and several of our facilities, as well as build additional sections of cable lines. By 2034, we will allocate PLN 1.7 billion for investments in the area of our Jelenia Góra branch.
