Voting results

A total of 11 424 residents of the municipality were eligible to participate in the referendum. 2 477 people took part in the vote, representing 21.68% turnout.

Valid votes:

  • In favour of dismissing the Municipal Council: 2 376 votes (96.23%)
  • Against dismissing the Municipal Council: 93 votes (3.77%)

A total of 2 469 valid votes and 8 invalid votes were cast.

Referendum status

The referendum was declared invalid because the legally required turnout threshold was not reached.

Under the Local Referendum Act, at least 3 173 people were required to participate (three-fifths of the number of participants in the April 2024 local government elections). Actual turnout was 2 477 people.

The Municipal Council in Nowogrodziec was not dismissed and continues to perform its duties.

Does this mean that the feud between most of the councilors and the mayor will continue in full force? Time will tell.
