Marika’s mother from the Warta Bolesławiecka municipality:

Shock — a 10-centimeter tumor in 13-year-old Marika’s head! It’s a miracle she survived! Without treatment, the tumor will grow back, so we must act immediately!

Until recently, Marika was a lively, smiling thirteen-year-old. Everything changed suddenly, brutally and unexpectedly.

For two years, she had complained of headaches — initially infrequent, then increasingly common. In recent weeks, they became a daily occurrence. Marika was constantly tired, pulsating veins appeared on her forehead, and painkillers helped for barely half an hour. For a long time, doctors attributed everything to stress, puberty, hormonal problems and thyroid issues.

The truth was terrifying...

As a mother, however, I felt that something more serious was happening. After waiting six hours in the hospital emergency department, we were sent home with paracetamol and No-Spa. I couldn’t leave it at that. I arranged an MRI myself. The result confirmed our worst fears. The diagnosis was a blow that was difficult to recover from.

A 10-centimeter brain tumor in the left frontal lobe. A malignant tumor.

And she adds:

Within a few days, our lives changed completely. We were taken by ambulance to Katowice. On April 29, doctors performed an operation during which they managed to remove the entire tumor.
Unfortunately, the histopathology results left no doubt — the tumor was malignant.

Marika has already undergone her first cycle of chemotherapy. She feels very unwell. She is suffering, but fighting with all her strength. Much lies ahead of us — further treatment, proton therapy in Kraków, specialist consultations and rehabilitation. Each of these stages involves enormous costs.

I am a single mother. I am fighting for my child’s life, and I know I cannot manage on my own.

Please help us. Proton therapy is our greatest chance, but it is also a huge financial burden. That is why I am asking you — help us in this fight.

She also adds: – Every donation, every shared post, every kind word is one step closer to saving my daughter’s health and life. From the bottom of my heart, I thank everyone who decides to support us.

You can help!
