– As a result of operational activities, officers of the Customs and Tax Service from the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław, together with Police officers, shut down four illegal locations in Kłodzko and Karkonosze counties. They secured 14 gambling machines and more than PLN 63,000 in cash – reports Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek, spokesperson for the Lower Silesian KAS.

The officers questioned six people as witnesses, detained two people and brought them before the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra to have charges presented.

The spokesperson explains: – Under the regulations, operating gambling games outside a casino without the required licence is a criminal offence and entails criminal liability.

She adds:

Possessing illegal machines and other equipment enabling gambling operations carries severe penalties of PLN 100,000 per machine. Organising gambling games, in addition to a high fine, is also punishable by up to three years in prison.
