Officers from the Economic Crime Department of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters arrested a 61-year-old woman. The officers: – The county resident entered into 3 contracts for the provision of telecommunications services in less than a month, under which she obtained 4 mobile phones and a router worth a total of several thousand zlotys.
The woman undertook to repay the amounts owed in installments. And although several months had passed, she had not paid any of the installments. The police: – During her arrest, she explained that she had failed to make the payments because of her difficult financial situation.
What did the police establish?
The officers’ findings show that in two cases, on the very day the contracts were signed, the suspect sold two phones at a pawnshop.
The other two devices were secured at the 61-year-old’s place of residence. Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters:
Actions are also underway to recover the fourth phone, about which the suspect gave various accounts: that it had been sold to a random person, stolen, or given away as a gift.The resident of Bolesławiec County was charged with 3 counts. Fraud carries a sentence of up to eight years in prison.
