The park on Zgorzelecka Street in Bolesławiec briefly became an arena for a World War II battle. Polish troops clashed with German forces. The Polish soldiers won the confrontation.

The reenactment of the 1945 fighting, together with a narration about wartime operations in the region and a model military camp from that period, was prepared by Stowarzyszenie Miłośników Górnych Łużyc and Qltur Kombinat Stowarzyszenie Promocji Kultury Ziemi Pieńskiej.

Despite the cool weather, the show attracted a sizeable audience. In addition to the battle reenactment, which used pyrotechnic effects, visitors could see weapons, vehicles—including motorcycles—and military uniforms from World War II, as well as sample military pea soup.
