The incident occurred on Tuesday, before noon. – Officers from the Railway Protection Guard post in Jelenia Góra were patrolling the area around the passenger station in Gryfów Śląski. They noticed a man on the platform smoking a cigarette in a designated no-smoking area – explains Insp. Piotr Żłobicki from the Press Team of the Headquarters of the Railway Protection Guard. – The officers decided to establish the identity of the offender; unfortunately, the man had no documents confirming his identity.
A police patrol was called to the scene. The spokesperson said: – After checking the police database, it turned out that the man was wanted by the District Court in Lwówek Śląski for failing to pay a fine. Under the court’s ruling, the man was sentenced to more than 20 days in prison.
The man was detained and handed over to officers from Gryfów Śląski, who are conducting further proceedings in the case.
