Students and graduates of the Kraków ceramic sculpture studio have been coming to workshops in Szklarska Poręba for five years. The result is a variety of works inspired by the mountain town and its surroundings. This year, the central theme was the legend of the Mountain Spirit, Karkonosz.
The artistic supervisor of the workshops was Marita Benke-Gajda. The artist, who is associated with Bolesławiec, participates in the International Ceramic and Sculpture Workshops and lectures at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. “Bolesławiec is a unique place for ceramic artists, and I am happy that we can present our works in the BOK-MCC gallery,” the sculptor said at the opening. “Visitors will find a different style and a different approach to clay here than in the works of artists working during the Bolesławiec workshops. My students treat clay in a more sculptural way. However, I hope that you will find our perspective on clay interesting.”
Twenty artists presented their works: Anna Baranowska, Wojciech Batko, Zbigniew Blajerski, Bogdan Czesak, Weronika Gajda, Artur Kolawa, Joanna Komarzyniec, Marta Kufel, Agata Magdziak, Jakub Niewdana, Natalia Nowacka, Przemysław Przegon, Monika Rościszewska, Maria Rząca, Kaja Sawicka, Adriana Sitkiewicz, Małgorzata Stańczyk, Katarzyna Tomczak, Ewa Wróbel and Beata Zgoda.
The exhibition can be viewed until 9 April at the “Długa” Gallery in Forum Cinema.
