Officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters detained two women suspected of attempting to commit fraud in one of the shops in our city.

The students from Africa wanted to pay for their purchases by handing the cashier counterfeit 100-zloty banknotes. The suspects wanted to pay for the products together, and each of them had cash marked with the word “counterfeit” in red.
The shop employee reacted immediately. The officers: – The women, aged 23 and 33, were detained, and the 100-zloty banknotes were secured.
The result? The women were charged with acting jointly in connection with an attempt to commit fraud by paying with counterfeit money.

The women allegedly did not know that the banknotes they used in the Bolesławiec shop were counterfeit – or so they told police officers when explaining the situation.
By court decision, the suspects were placed under police supervision. Fraud is punishable by up to 8 years in prison.
