The incident occurred on May 2 this year in Jelenia Góra, on the premises of one of the beer gardens at a restaurant. – A 54-year-old man – for reasons unknown – attacked an unfamiliar 53-year-old man with a knife – reports Sub-Inspector Beata Sosulska-Baran of the Jelenia Góra Municipal Police Headquarters. – The attacker stabbed him several times, causing injuries to the neck area.

The seriously injured man was taken to hospital.

The spokesperson: – The information gathered in the case, along with surveillance camera footage, enabled officers to quickly establish the attacker’s identity.

Officers detained the 54-year-old aggressor immediately after the incident; he was drunk, and a test showed nearly three per mille of alcohol in his system.

The man was charged with attempted murder. At the investigators’ request, the court ordered the 54-year-old to be held in pre-trial detention for three months.

The knifeman could now face life imprisonment.
